The British Columbia Labour Market Outlook estimates 76 percent of all job openings in the next 10 years will require some level of post-secondary education or skills training, or management or supervisory experience. The Kootenay region is expected to have 26,300 job openings over the next decade.
The program outlined below is designed to support people living in B.C. in gaining the skills needed to participate in the labour market, secure sustainable employment or move on to further education or training that can benefit their lives.
More than 80 percent of participants achieve employment or pursue further education and training after completing a skills training program.

Through the Ktunaxa Nation Education and Employment Sector, BladeRunners offers tailored, culturally relevant guidance to Indigenous youth within ʔamakʔis Ktunaxa (Ktunaxa Lands) while supporting youth from diverse backgrounds with life skills, job readiness training, on-the-job experience and continuous support. This collaboration ensures that all participants gain the skills, mentorship and confidence needed to succeed in the workforce, fostering sustainable employment and personal growth.
