In the Spotlight

Shining a spotlight on Employment Services and employment success stories from our clients.

Supporting employment goals of single parents

Every day, WorkBC Centres help people find good jobs, including many single parents. Their resilience and strength are truly inspiring, and we’re proud to support them as they look for work while caring for their children.

At WorkBC, we offer personalized support because we know that one solution doesn’t fit all. We work with single parents who are:

  • Survivors of violence and abuse
  • Young parents
  • Newcomers to Canada
  • Individuals with disabilities
  • Indigenous people, with focus on providing culturally safe services.

Are you a single parent?  We invite you to visit your local WorkBC Centre!

We offer a wide range of free services to help you find a job. On your first visit, we’ll chat about how we can best support you. We can help with resumes, cover letters, and connect you with local employers.

If you need training, we can link you to grants and programs in fields like healthcare, construction, cybersecurity and more.
