The British Columbia Labour Market Outlook estimates 76 percent of all job openings in the next 10 years will require some level of post-secondary education or skills training, or management or supervisory experience. The Northeast region is expected to have 11,200 job openings over the next decade.
The programs outlined below are designed to support people living in B.C. in gaining the skills needed to participate in the labour market, secure sustainable employment or move on to further education or training that can benefit their lives.
More than 80 percent of participants achieve employment or pursue further education and training after completing a skills training program.
North East Native Advancing Society

This program provides participants with two weeks of basic safety training that includes First Aid, WHMIS, Fall Protection and many more. Meals are provided during training, and work gear and tools are provided upon completion of training.
Job coaches are on staff to assist participants from the time they enter the program until they no longer need support.

This program uses four training pathways: industrial, customer service/hospitality, general office and general computer proficiency. It includes Indigenous cultural components, personal counselling, short-term occupational certifications, professional driver training and work experience (with possible wage subsidies).
