The British Columbia Labour Market Outlook estimates 76 percent of all job openings in the next 10 years will require some level of post-secondary education or skills training, or management or supervisory experience. The Thompson-Okanagan region is expected to have 121,900 job openings over the next decade. 

The program outlined below is designed to support people living in B.C. in gaining the skills needed to participate in the labour market, secure sustainable employment or move on to further education or training that can benefit their lives.

More than 80 percent of participants achieve employment or pursue further education and training after completing a skills training program.

The program participants engage in career coaching and exploration, training certifications and soft skills development, and are then supported through the job search and interviewing process. Once BladeRunners are employed, Connective continues to offer supports to participants and their employers to ensure their long-term success. Connective’s ACES program (Acquiring Community-Based Employment Skills) supports people who are facing barriers to employment such as housing instability, criminal justice involvement, substance use and/or mental health concerns to find, secure and maintain long-term employment.
