2024 B.C. Labour Market Outlook

The 2024 Labour Market Outlook (LMO) report provides an estimate of B.C.'s future labour supply and demand, as well as an assessment of the education and training generally required for the jobs of the future. It is intended for students, job seekers and those considering a career change, but it also provides value for educators and planners, employers and governments.
The report is updated yearly to be responsive to policy changes, technological innovations and evolving circumstances. This year’s report includes, but is not limited to, revisions to the list of High Opportunity Occupations (HOO), the labour market impact of generative AI (Artificial Intelligence) and population growth projections.
In addition to these updates, we are also proud to introduce a more interactive, web-based version of the report. In the new LMO page, we’ve highlighted the most important details you need to understand the labour market.
