January is Mentoring Month

alt

January is a time to raise awareness about the impact of mentoring. Mentoring is when someone with more experience (a mentor) helps a person with less experience (a mentee) to learn and grow. A mentor helps a mentee achieve their goals by providing feedback and insight that their mentee may not get elsewhere.

Mentoring is especially important for youth. Mentors encourage their mentees to look for experiences that challenge them and their idea of the world. They provide guidance without judgment and consistency through good times and bad.
