Why take the survey
Everyone deserves to live in a province where they have equitable opportunities to thrive. But many programs and services do not consider the unique needs of Indigenous Peoples and racialized people.
The first step in addressing discriminatory gaps is to acknowledge and identify where we can do better, which is why the B.C. Government is asking for public input.

Survey results will be combined with existing information to identify gaps in services, provide a better understanding of what is working and the opportunity to change what is not.

Who should take the survey?
The survey is voluntary and open to British Columbians, regardless of their racial or ethnic background.
Everyone has experienced some challenges with government services, as we all have complex identifies and needs that may not be met due to gaps in the system. Therefore, even if you have not experienced barriers due to race or ethnicity, your input still goes a long way toward helping identify areas for improvement.

The survey was created through engagement with Indigenous, Black and other racialized communities during the Anti-Racism Data Act. It includes questions related to race, ethnicity, ancestry and other areas of identity.
